With a few tips and tricks you don’t need to be a professional to have fabulous makeup. Once you know your face shape, flattering colors, natural contours, how much to apply, and how to apply it you too c an feel sexy and confident with your makeup regime. You don’t have to spend hours doing it either, once you have the know-how you too can accentuate your best features, while taking attention away from those that are not so flattering. Here are a few tips & tricks we promise you wish you knew a long time ago! Be sure to share with all the women in your life so they too can be in-the-know!

Bottom Lash Mascara

If this is one of the last things you do, we’re sure at one time or another you’ve painted you face with this stuff while applying mascara along your lower lash line. We’ve done our makeup in moving cars and know the truth, too! Try using an old plastic spoon or points card (like the pet store one you always forget to pull out) to prevent mascara from getting on your face. You can always find something around the house to re-purpose as a makeup shield and avoid the frustration of having to fix your work in a hurry!

Eye Highlights

When trying to highlight the eye, making it naturally beautiful, it’s important to place the highlights in the proper places. Your lighter colors (whites, creams, and pearls) should be applied to the inner corners, the middle of the eye, and just under your brow bone. Apply your lightest colors first and then move onto your darker shades.

Lip-licous

Making your lips plumper and bigger can be easily accomplished with some great tips found on The Savvy Beauty, but getting your lips ready for a great coat of lipstick is a different thing! Lips need to shed skin just like every other surface of your body. Just because they are constantly moving (for some more than others) doesn’t mean that they are getting a proper exfoliation. Just like your skin, your lips will look a million times better by simply exfoliating them daily – in as little as 1 minute. Next time you’re brushing your teeth, run the toothbrush over your lips a few times to help slough off extra skin. Do this daily and your lips will look great in as little as a few days. Be sure to rinse off any toothpaste before doing this to avoid potential discomfort.

False Eyelash without False Eyelashes!

Here is a great way to get the look without the lashes! First curl your eyelashes, apply a thin layer of powder before applying your mascara. Sweep a small blending brush across the compact and apply it to the top and bottom of your lashes. This creates a base that makes them look much fuller. Next apply two coats of mascara to the bottom and TOP side of your lashes, but wait 3-5 minutes in between each coat, otherwise they tend to get clumpy. When applying your mascara, you don’t want to just move your mascara wand back and forth while going up. The left and right motion will make every lash completely covered from base to tip. Finally, do a once over and make sure all your lashes are covered well and apply a final coat if necessary.

Secret Eye Lift

Sweep a light pink matte pencil across the entire length of your brow bone to create the illusion of a higher arch, and then blend, blend, blend. It should not be detectable.

Facial Care

To get the best results on your skin, it’s important to choose skin care products that are suitable for your skin type. When choosing products read the label carefully to ensure you are buying for any specific needs your skin may have (such as combination, sensitive, dry, etc.). A proper face care routine is imperative to maintaining healthy skin as cosmetics stifle your skin from getting oxygen so the right products can make all the difference between healthy and damaged skin. Start with something to remove all dirt & oil such as Equate Beauty Wipe Away the Day Cleansing Balm on Walmart.com. Follow up withBeauty360 Illuminating Facial Cleanser from CVS.com for $4.89.

This cleanser will gently remove all dirt, oil, and makeup allowing your skin to breathe and pores to open. A few times a week we suggest using a toner likeStudio35 Beauty Witch Hazel Toner/Cleanser on Walgreens.com for $4.49 to really give your skin a deep clean, allowing for regeneration of your cells. Always, always, always use a good moisturizer, suitable for your skin type to encourage moisture, hydration, and nourishment while you sleep and while you go about your day.
