With every changing season we enjoy looking at what is trending, what is popular, and what is here to stay a while. There are always massive changes in fashion, beauty, and lifestyle that can literally make your head spin but some looks last the long haul. We are lucky enough to have found them and want to share some of our classic, go-to makeup looks for any occasion. SO take a journey with us to the past, present and future – oh, bring an open mind!

Matte Makeup

We all love that feeling when you look in the mirror and your skin looks and feels virtually pore-free. Looking flawless is a no brainer and frankly we love looking this way all the time!

Step 1: Using a flat foundation brush or sponge, apply a mattifying foundation all over the face. Be sure to blend it into the neck area so that everything is even and unified.

Step 2: Using a foundation 2 shades darker than your skin tone, contour your cheekbones, sides of nose and along temples/hairline. Be sure to buff out the darker shade and blend into your natural tone to ensure the color is subtle. Now apply a setting powder to your face and underneath the eyes to lock in your makeup.

Step 3: Apply a soft, cream-colored eye shadow to the upper and lower lids. Using an angled brush, apply the same shadow along lower lash line.

Step 4: Make a strong, matte brow by filling in any bare areas of your brows (or simply creating a new, subtle shape) while accentuating the natural curve.

Cat’s Eye

This can be a challenging endeavor for someone who can’t seem to get the perfect cat eye but don’t give up! It is one of the sexiest looks for evening time, a night out on the town or just a playful mood.

Step 1: Take your business card or a piece of tape and align the edge with the bottom corner of your upper lash line up to the outer edge of your brow. This card placement is key: make sure you’re holding the card at an angle so the wing is going almost directly upward and not facing down or angled too horizontally.

Step 2: Use a dark, smooth eyeliner, draw a line along the edge of the card. The line should start as a continuation of your last lash, going up and out. Liquid liners are killer for this.

Step 3: Go back and line the rest of your top lash line to your inner corner. Staying as close to the lash line as possible. DO the same for your bottom lash line. Then fill in the area between the top line and bottom line at the outer corners with liner.

Step 4: Curl lashes and apply black mascara to top lashes only, adding a few extra coats to the outer lashes for some extra oomph. Since your eyes will be the feature of your face, tone down the other makeup or match the cat eye with a bold lipstick color.

Makeup and Skin Care

Playing around with your makeup can be fun and exciting but skin care is an essential part of your health and youthfulness. Makeup should be enhancing your natural features, not transforming you into a cake-faced doll from chucky. The real show is your skin. Taking care of your skin is essential and can be quite simple if you have the proper skin care products – that won’t leave you broke. Start with a great cleanser like Beauty 360 Illuminating Facial Cleaner from CVS.com for $6.99. This cleanser will wash away all dirt and makeup, leaving skin glowing and revitalized.

Follow up your skin cleanse with a really good toner. You could also try a 2-in-1 cleanser-toner like Studio 35 Beauty Witch Hazel  (walgreens.com for $4.29) which does both at the same time. This will leave your skin conditioned, cleansed and deep cleaned.

Finally be sure to moisturize your delicate skin with a great combination lotion like Equate Beauty Strikingly Unique Moisturizing Lotion from Walmart.com.
