Beauty Uses for Green Tea

Most of us know that green tea is packed with antioxidants. Drinking green tea 1-2x per day helps your body flush out toxins and can help improve your complexion and overall health of your skin. However, if you don’t like green tea or are more of a coffee drinker, there are many ways to incorporate green tea in your beauty regimen without having to drink it!

Facial Scrub

Using a green tea facial scrub will help to remove dirt and other impurities from your pores.

Mix together 2 Tbsp of ground green tea leaves with 2 Tbsp of Honey to form a thick paste. Massage this paste into your skin and leave it on for 15 minutes (or longer!). Rinse with lukewarm water and follow up with a good moisturizer such as the Equate Beauty Strikingly Unique Moisturizing Lotion ($8.96).


A green tea toner is a great tool for soothing and calming skin that is irritated or inflamed. This is a great option when you have run out of your regular toner or when you want to give your skin a break by using something more natural.

Steep 4 Tsp of green tea and 1 Tsp of mint leaves in a cup of boiling water. Allow the mixture to steep for 15 minutes and then strain. Allow it to cool, and then pour it into a glass container with a lid. Saturate a cotton ball with the toner and apply to your face in upward motions.

Eye Treatment

Green tea contains Vitamin K, making it great for easing tired and puffy eyes.

Chill a cup of green tea in the refrigerator until it is nice and cool. Saturate 2 cotton balls in the tea and place them on your closed eyelids. Sit back and allow the tea to work its magic for about 15 minutes.

Hair Mask

Try a green tea & egg hair mask for soft & shiny hair.

Beat two eggs and slowly add 2 cups of steeped green tea. Massage the mixture into your scalp and then apply to the rest of your hair, concentrating on the ends. Leave it on your hair for 30 minutes and then rinse.


There is nothing more relaxing or soothing than a green tea bath. After your bath, you will feel stress free and your skin will feel extra soft.
